Tell me this thing isn’t pretty.

Now the question is, should I get one?  I think I should, it’s on sale for the next two days, $60 off!  What do y’all think?

Seeing as I own a MadCatz TE stick, the old Round 2 one, let me tell you this. If it’s on sale for that much, I would go for it x3 I love my stick, and it’s improved my playing ability quite a bit. If you feel you’re a stick guy, go for it, it’s definitely a good investment. The only downside is the whole “I only work on PC and one system” thing, the main reason I’m going to be buying my second stick from Eightarc, since those work on all 3 platforms.

I actually already own an RAP PS3 stick and 2 Qanba sticks that work on all 3 platforms :D  

Being the crazy person I am, I want a legion of sticks, and so far from the MadCatz ones I’ve tried/borrowed from others during meets/tournaments are definitely awesome.  I don’t have an Xbox specific stick yet, so this one fits the bill perfectly!

Then by all means, I would definitely go for it! I love my Round 2 stick, other than the fact that I need to order in some new buttons for it. Only dislike I have is the console specificness, mainly because my FGC here only does tournaments on Xbox, and I just can’t play on a pad anymore ._. it’s awkward enough playing UMVC3 on my Vita.

Point of the matter is, the stick has gotten excellent reviews, and if it’s 60 bucks off, I’d definitely jump on it XD

Yeah my community bobs between PS3 and Xbox depending on the games.  The Big Two (SSF4 and UMvC3 if for some reason you’ve never heard of that :P) are almost always Xbox, whereas my beloved Soul Calibur 5 is on PS3.  King of Fighters is a coin flip.  

Seriously though, why doesn’t every stick come with a handle?  >.<

Also also, totally in the mail right meow!  (Well actually, as of yesterday haha)

The only game we have on PS3 here is MK9 ._. which, kinda blows, because I haven’t played Moral Kombat since the SNES.

I do wish that every fightstick came with a handle, it’d make things much easier, but for the moment, we’ll just have to invest in fightstick carrier backpack things x3

They badmouth any game that isn’t SF4, MK9, SFxT or UMVC3. Worse yet, they flat out refuse to have KoF13 or “Animu games” like Blazblue or Guilty Gear in the same room :/ Oh well, this is why I have EVO to look forward to, along with any time I venture to California.

Either way, ranting done with, congrats on the new stick! I hope it treats you well, I’ve heard some good things about the Soul Edition.

Aww man, that sucks!  I just got into KOF and I’m having a blast with it.  I also envy the crap out of you for being able to go to EVO, for I am stuck in the land of Canada and cannot go :O

If you’re gonna have a community, you definitely have to be willing to accept ALL the games out these days haha.  And actually, to be honest I’m rather amazed that you have MK fans who DON’T bash Marvel, I find that rare.

KOF, Skullgirls, Blazblue, all pretty big games, and the first two actually draw huge numbers right now.  I’m no good in them yet, but learning every day.  I’m fresh out of Toryuken where I leveled up supremely.  Can’t wait ‘til I make enough money to venture out into the next majors.  Good luck at EVO, what games are you entering?  :O

As for what I’m entering, I’m probably just gonna stick to Marvel, since it’s my main game, and despite my team going under some maintenance for alt’s, my game has been improving quite a bit thanks to constant training sessions. Now if I can only figure out Dante’s bold cancel teleport, I’ll be set…

Down Down A+S Down S ought to do it, and mash it, for realz.  If not, instead of the teleport you can do QCF H x2 to get the grapple and pull them right back to you.  Slightly less damage, but tricky and fun, especially if the wall-bounce screws up and you do the teleport and he keeps flying - it’s a weird little thing that can happen.

What team are you thinking of running?  Positions too, always like to hear what people run, get ideas and inspiration haha.

Huh, I never did think of doing the dartgrapple O_o I’m going to have to test this now…

As for team and positions, Dante on point with Jam Session, he’s been my point-man since Vanilla, and that really only changes on my derpteam of Frank West, Rocket Raccoon, Dante. As for middle, I’m probably going to go with Doctor Doom on Missiles, and as for anchor position, I have no idea. There’s Wesker on Samurai Edge, or Swagneto on Repulsor, Taskmaster with any degree of arrows, or Rocket with Log Trap. I’m pretty much clueless on what I should do for anchor at the moment.

Well, Doom missiles help everyone, that’s for sure.  Wesker is always a solid answer, I personally like Magneto though.  Instead of missiles you can use his super quick beam assist for teleport shenanigans, and as long as you know his loops then he’s a great anchor.  I’m a great Taskmaster myself, and I think straight arrows would be your best bet if you have missiles second.  Again, the same reason the beam assist is good, Log Trap can be a total screw up if you use it liberally with Dante’s teleport, or to cover footdive stuff.

That’s my two cents - Dante doesn’t really need Wesker’s OTG assist, but you can do some fun stuff with it (extra Hammer, dash-under resets etc.), Magneto if you have no issues executing his loops, or anyone you’re comfortable with playing without any help.  Everyone you’ve mentioned are definitely solid anchors, and Dante builds a ton of bar (usually) that all of them except maybe Magneto can take advantage of.  I mean lets face it, Magnus generates enough meter by himself :P.  RR with meter means lots of spring traps, Task means chip and blowing up assists if you get caught with him vs 2 or more.

And I realize this likely didn’t help your decision, just some thoughtful analyzing :D
